Hawaiian BBQ Tofu Bowls



These Hawaiian BBQ Tofu Bowls are a delightful fusion of flavors, combining the smoky sweetness of barbecue sauce with the tropical tang of pineapple. The crispy tofu adds a satisfying texture, while the sautéed vegetables provide freshness and color. Perfect for a quick and tasty meal!

Ingredients:

  • 1 block tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • 1 cup cooked brown rice
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions, sliced, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions:

Set oven temperature to 400F 200C

Combine soy sauce and barbecue sauce in a bowl and toss to coat the tofu cubes evenly

Line a baking sheet with tofu cubes, then bake for 25 to 30 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through, or until the tofu turns crispy

Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat

Slices of onion and bell pepper should be added and cooked until soft

Cook the pineapple chunks in the skillet for a further two to three minutes

To assemble the bowls, distribute the cooked rice among them and garnish with the pineapple, sauted vegetables, and barbecued tofu

Add sesame seeds and sliced green onions as garnish

Warm up the food
