Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Hamburger buns, for serving
Instructions:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground turkey until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks
Drain excess fat and transfer the cooked turkey to the slow cooker
Add diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the slow cooker with the turkey
In a small bowl, mix together ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, apple cider vinegar, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper
Pour this mixture over the turkey and vegetables in the slow cooker
Stir to combine
Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until flavors are melded and vegetables are tender
Serve the turkey sloppy joe mixture on hamburger buns
